Q. Dan, round of 67 here at the K Club. Talk us through your day.

DANIEL BROWN: Yeah, very nice start. Front nine played really well. Had a little sort of wobble for three or four holes, but then managed to play nice coming in the last two or three holes.

Q. What was that blip in the middle of that round?

DANIEL BROWN: I don't know to be honest. I have no idea. Just missed a few fairways, which I really didn't do on the front nine. I was good off the tee on front nine and for a few holes there just missed a few fairways. The rough is quite juicy. It's not easy when you're in there.

So yeah, scrapping around for a few holes, but then, yeah, hit some good shots coming in.

Q. You had an amazing front nine. For you, what do you have to do well around this course?

DANIEL BROWN: Hit fairways, yeah, which I sort of found out there in the middle. Yeah, the greens are soft, so if you do hit fairways you can kind of hit a little bit target golf then and you can be a little bit more aggressive and try and go at some flags with it being soft.

Q. How nice were the crowds out there?

DANIEL BROWN: Yeah, good. When you tee off at half 7, normally just feels like you're the only ones on the golf course. Yeah, obviously Shane, Padraig, Rory, just a few groups behind, yeah, it was nice to play in front of a few people.
