Quick Quotes
Q. Megan, it's been a marathon day. We embarked on this day together at 8:17 this morning; here we are 6:30 in the evening. How would you describe the day today?
MEGAN KHANG: It was definitely long, but really happy to be done today. I know a lot of girls are still kind of just teeing off, so I hope they get in as many hole as they can. Obviously was going to be a long day for all of us whether we were teeing off in the morning, or especially now, just going off.
So it's hard to be on both ends of it, but selfishly I'm happy to be done.
Q. On a day like this, three separate weather delays, how do you pass the time? What's the biggest challenge?
MEGAN KHANG: The first one, funny enough, I was on hole 18 so I popped up on up to the FM chalet. FM people are great, so they let myself up with friends and had a little ice cream during the delay. Then obviously tried to get some practice in when they allowed us back out.
And then the second time I actually went back into the FM chalet, got some more food, after lunch wasn't being served.
Third time was a little different just because obviously the afternoon wave had kind of (indiscernible) at the course, so spent time with a couple friends and played some billiards.
Q. You mentioned popping into some of the chalets. You are an FM ambassador, also? An unofficial tournament host of sorts this week. How would you describe this overall experience?
MEGAN KHANG: It's super cool. Like obviously seeing kind of a lot of hometown family and friends coming out, whether it's people from my hometown approaching me and telling me how I'm a rocking bulldog, you know, very proud to be one, and, you know, just kind of being able to kind of show off my home state. Obviously the weather wasn't cooperating today, but hopefully this is the last of it.
Yeah, I always joke I'm the unofficial host of this event, but I am very proud to be one. If they ever gave me the title I would happily accept it.
But overall, just it's really fun to be home and have everyone come out and see the entire tour as a whole.
Q. It was fun watching you out there today, as well. Seemed like you were really relishing having your family and friends out there. How would you assess your overall round today?
MEGAN KHANG: Yeah, it's always hard coming on and off the golf course. I kind of was feeding off Lexi and Ingrid today. I think we had pretty good front nines, which was the back nine of the course. Had a little bit of a -- hit some really good shots but made a silly mistake on 7. I got a little aggressive with my birdie putt. It's a little sour to have the only blemish on the day on a three-putt on the par-5.
Overall pretty happy with the game. Obviously it's a little more pressure kind of that I put on myself. It's not really necessarily playing, but just putting it on myself to play well for the home team, home crowd. You know, I played well, made the weekend, and hopefully climb up that leaderboard a little bit more. Obviously have to see what the tee times are for tomorrow, but definitely excited to be here.
