August 24, 2025

Mao Saigo

Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

Mississaugua Golf & Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Okay, here with Mao Saigo after the final round of the CPKC Women's Open. I mean, bogey-free today. Five birdies to finish. Just how would you describe today's round for you?

MAO SAIGO: (Through translation.) I was hitting the ball pretty well throughout the day so I had many birdie opportunities.

Was able to shoot five birdies and no bogeys, so was a good day.

Q. And you mentioned your ball striking. Was that something you were working on heading into this week?

MAO SAIGO: (Through translation.) I was working on something on my swing coming into the week, but I was able to swing the way I want through the -- as the tournament goes.

So I was pretty happy about it.

Q. Are you able to talk about what you were working on in your swing?

MAO SAIGO: (Through translation.) Trying to move my body the way I feel like I swing through.

Q. Like rotating all the way through kind of? Got you. With a finish like that you moved up to the top of the leaderboard. Can you just describe this week and what it was like to play like this?

MAO SAIGO: (Through translation.) I'm pretty happy with the result, the way I played, but I would have compete in final group in contention, so that's what I've been -- what I'm trying to do next few tournaments.

Q. What are some of the highlights you'll take from this week that you saw in your game to bring into next week and the rest of the season?

MAO SAIGO: (Through translation.) I was swing pretty good and feeling good about off the tee so that's what I'm trying to do next few tournaments or so.

Q. I just remembered you played really well here last year, too. What was it like to be back here? I know we're not at the same golf course, but being back at this event, did to bring any memories of playing well here?

MAO SAIGO: (Through translation.) I love the people here. Very welcoming and like warm. That's why I was having fun playing in this event, and will hope to be back next year, too.
