Q. Jon, you missed this event last year through illness. You were the top seed. You have two of the youngest players in the league. They performed brilliantly today. You won in a playoff in front of this atmosphere. How meaningful is this win?

JON RAHM: It's always hard to put into words. Neither Tyrrell or I were having a great day today, and even during the whole week, I don't think we played our best. But the young guys kind of were a beacon of strength playing good and out there today as well. They carried us all the way to the end.

Tyrrell and I got it going a little late, but better late than never. When it came to the playoff, I felt fairly confident we're both really good wedge players, and if we just put it in the fairway, I was fairly confident we were going to give ourselves a lot of chances.

To just get it done like that, knowing I hit it close enough and not really have to stress about it, it's a wonderful feeling. It's been a long year. I'm happy I finally won a playoff, and I couldn't be prouder of all of them. They played unbelievable.

Q. You played brilliantly all year. You didn't win individually. But does this team win alleviate some of those frustrations of not pulling off a victory as an individual?

JON RAHM: Yeah, it was a great year no matter what. The fact that we got it done means a lot. Right now I still have a hard time getting out of competition mode because you don't want to believe that it's over. But my God, just so proud of them, that's all I can say. It's been a long road, and they showed up. Just really happy to win this one.

Q. They certainly did. You and Bryson, you had a battle out there. You were three, four shots back. How much fun was it competing with one of the best players in the world and coming out on top today?

JON RAHM: He played incredible golf. He played unbelievable. His driver was on an absolute roll, and he had the putter going. I just tried to stay together with it as much as I could. I tried to remind myself that every three holes there was 12 scoring opportunities for each group or each team.

Just kept reminding myself that even two, three holes was enough and just glad that I was able to match him with birdies at the end.
