CPKC WOMEN'S OPEN

August 24, 2025

Manon De Roey

Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

Mississaugua Golf & Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. All right, her with Manon after her final round of the CPKC Women's Open. Looking like an awesome finish for you right now. Just how do you describe the week?

MANON de ROEY: Yeah, I mean, I'm very happy with my week. If you would've told me I would've finished Top 10 at the end of the week I would be very happy.

I love coming to Canada. I played the event two years ago here and, I mean, in Vancouver. I mean, the crowds are amazing; the people are super nice.

Q. Is there any particular reason you say that, about being kind of shocked if someone told you in the beginning of the week you would play like this?

MANON de ROEY: I mean, I'm still trying to find some ground here on the LPGA, but I know I belong here. I know I deserve my spot to be here, so it's just kind of a matter of tomorrow I feel like.

Today I proved that I was worth going or it, so, yeah.

Q. And anything you kind of saw in your game that really stood out to you this week that you think kind of helped contribute to your finish?

MANON de ROEY: Yeah, I feel like the rough was quite tough in week is fairway hits were very important. I think I did quite good hitting fairways this week. And also just around the greens the rough is really thick, so I worked really hard on my short game, putting, because I knew that was going to be important. Yeah, it paid off.

Q. And you mentioned short game. We were just talking, made two chip-ins this week. Were they both from the rough?

MANON de ROEY: Yeah, they were both from the rough. One was like just from the -- in the rough and the other one was on the edge.

But I mean, I don't chip in that often, but yeah, it was cool chipping in. My host family came to watch and when I chip in they went crazy so was real nice.

Q. You climbed up the leaderboard, climbed up a little bit every day. Were you looking at the leaderboard today to see where you were at?

MANON de ROEY: Yeah, I always like to watch the leaderboards just to know what I have to do. After my eagle on 13, I knew I was going to be up there, but, yeah, I just kept going. Just a bit sad about my bogey on 18, but that's okay.

Q. And are you planing to play next week right now?

MANON de ROEY: Yeah.

Q. Okay, awesome.

MANON de ROEY: Five weeks in a row.

Q. Busy lady. What does this finish do for your confidence going into next week and the rest of the season?

MANON de ROEY: I think finishing top 10 is very important for your confidence. I mean, my game, I feel confident about my game, my ball striking, putting, so, yeah, it's all coming together.

Q. You played with Aphrodite Deng. What was it like coming up 18? She got a lot of cheers and just seeing fans interact with her all day?

MANON de ROEY: Yeah, feel like she had a lot of fans out here of course because she's the low amateur as well. I think it's a great experience for her. She played great. She's very -- she's not scared at all. She just goes. She kind of like takes it all in, which is great.

She's going to have a bright future ahead of her I think, so it was cool.

Q. You mentioned she's a little bit aggressive; doesn't seem to have a lot of fear maybe. What is it about her game that you think is helping her have success?

MANON de ROEY: I think at that age too you just enjoy the moment. You try to enjoy the moment. She definitely did that today I think with the crowds being so loud.

I mean, yeah, I think she's going to be a great player. I played with another amateur earlier this week. It's a bit different. Like it was a bit different game. But she scored really well and she's a great player.
