Q. When did you start working with Phil and how dramatic would you say the improvement has been since?

PATRICK CANTLAY: Yeah, I started working with Phil really in Memphis. Just a couple little setup changes, nothing too drastic, and I've enjoyed it so far.

Q. How would you describe your season as a whole, and is there something you feel like you're doing specifically better this week than maybe earlier in the year?

PATRICK CANTLAY: Yeah, I'm definitely driving the ball straighter this week, which is really important around here. The rough is very penal, so you can be aggressive if you're playing from the fairway, and I've been able to do that for the most part this week.

Q. Have you felt your game kind of trending these last few weeks, or is this kind of coming out of nowhere for you?

PATRICK CANTLAY: No, I think it has. I've been putting in a lot of good work, and so it's nice to see some of that work starting to pay off.

Q. You said you were focusing on this week, but knowing the Ryder Cup is coming up, how does it feel to have your game shaping up at the right time?

PATRICK CANTLAY: Yeah, it's always nice to have your game shape up at the end of the year, but like I said, I'm focused 100 percent on this week, and we'll worry about the Ryder Cup a little later.

Q. Have you ever had any coach or any part of your game outside of Jamie?

PATRICK CANTLAY: I've worked with different folks at different times, but by and large, it's been mostly Jamie.

Q. First putting coach?

PATRICK CANTLAY: Yeah.

Q. How would you describe -- did you feel like you weren't getting better, weren't finding answers? What was the state of things when you decided to go to Phil?

PATRICK CANTLAY: I feel like I didn't have any big dropoff or anything in my putting, but just trying to find a little edge, trying to get a little better. I was talking with a couple guys on TOUR that work with him and they spoke very highly of him. I thought I'd give it a shot.
