Q. What a day you just had out there, tied the course record with a 63. If you can give us a summary of that round?
MARCO PENGE: Yeah, obviously starting with three on the trot kind of set the day really. I obviously was 1-under for the tournament going into today and I wanted to try and get myself on the ball to be in contention for tomorrow.
Yeah, it was just all around really good. Felt great with the putter which was nice. I holed out well last week but outside that have, I didn't feel very good. I've been trying to find my feels again with the putting and even yesterday with my wife, she gave me a few tips.
Q. I saw you very briefly after yesterday's round and you said, "I'm pretty close." What was the difference?
MARCO PENGE: The putter. I'm hitting the ball tee-to-green great. The first few days I made some stupid errors. Me and Max were a little bit tired from last week still, kind of on a little bit of cloud nine. We sat around last night and said, I've got some rules in mind, and let's try not break any of them rules. And we did that today.
Q. Talk about the crowd. You had thousands following you, the reception off the back of 18, how much did that spur you on??
MARCO PENGE: I've been looking forward to playing the weekend in front of my home crowd. I said to my team yesterday, I'm disappointed with the first two rounds, but there was a lot I was playing for yesterday. I wanted to make the cut to be playing in front of the crowd for the first time.
I wanted to make sure I have a good week following last week's win. There was some little mini-goals in there for me and down the stretch, it was quite a pressure situation. I dealt with it really well.
So yeah, it's just amazing support. It's just great to feel really appreciated and respected, and it's nice have a great day.
