BETFRED BRITISH MASTERS HOSTED BY SIR NICK FALDO

August 23, 2025

Matt Wallace

Sutton, Coldfield, England

The Belfry Hotel & Resort

Quick Quotes

Q. Third round 70. How would you assess your day's play?

MATT WALLACE: Good question. I battled hard like I always do. Frustrated with the short one on 17, and, yeah, swing wasn't quite there today, and I need to go and work on that.

Q. You dropped three in three from the sixth but you must be pleased with how you managed to reset the back nine and battled moving forward from there.

MATT WALLACE: Yeah, I need to look at the positives. I didn't feel great out there and I managed to bounce back from what were some awful shots, and birdie 9 was really, really strong. Hitting the same club I hit off the tee on 8, and then have to hit it again on 9. I was really happy with how I bounced back, not feeling great, and just goes to show that I can do it when I'm not feeling so good.

Q. With that in mind, we spoke at the beginning of the week about your goals. Knowing you haven't given your best and what you can do, that must give you a lot of confidence going into tomorrow.

MATT WALLACE: All I wanted was a chance. I wanted to be a little closer. I wanted to play a little better today. But I've given myself that opportunity for tomorrow, and there's scores out there. I just need to play like I did probably on the first day and hole a few more putts, and, you know, the last few holes there, anything can happen.
