Quick Quotes
Q. Tyrrell, you knew coming up against Richard Bland, you were up against one of the most consistent players out there. To clinch the winning point in front of your teammates, how good does this feel, and how relieved do you feel?
TYRRELL HATTON: After that chip shot just there, I'm very relieved. Blandy is a great player. I feel like this golf course sort of plays to his strengths. He's great with wedges and doesn't miss too many fairways. So I knew it was going to be a really tough game.
I'm sure I'd be disappointed to three-putt the last there. But it worked out in my favor. Just happy to get the win for the team.
Q. Jon, you missed this event through illness last year. How exciting is this format, and how proud are you of the two youngsters who got a point for you today?
JON RAHM: It's so hard as a player to not be in control. It feels so much worse than playing. But extremely proud of my team always. I didn't do my duty as a captain today and made this an uphill battle for all of us. The two young guys came through, finished strong with two birdies.
Then Tyrrell doing Tyrrell things. He seems to be unflappable hitting those short putts. I've seen it many, many times. One more time, you know. Unlucky with the chip, unlucky with the lie, and still makes the putt he needs to make. Hopefully they can keep playing this good, and I can show up tomorrow.
Q. You didn't pick the Majesticks, who are the lowest seed; you picked the No. 11 seed in the Cleeks. What is the strategy for tomorrow now?
JON RAHM: I don't even know who won, so I'm going to have to go look at that and assess what we need to do.
Q. Tyrrell, everybody's a world class player here, over 18 holes in match play. I mean, you can't predict any outcome, can you?
TYRRELL HATTON: No, definitely not. I think that's kind of the beauty of match play. On the day, anyone beats anyone. Yeah, you just have to go out there and try your best, fight on every shot. Generally they're always close matches. It doesn't take much to swing it one way or the other. Yeah, they can be stressful.
