Quick Quotes
Q. Here with Minjee Lee after the second round of the CPKC Women's Open. Just good round today. Had things rolling. Talk about what went well.
MINJEE LEE: Yeah, I mean, I had a really nice front nine. Had 4-under to start the first nine, so, yeah, I felt like -- I birdied the same two holes to start, 2 and 3 yesterday as well, so I had good vibes. So started well.
And I felt like I hit solid shots on the back nine as well. Just didn't have too many that were like close range. So, you know, didn't hole too many mid-range putts for birdie.
But, yeah, I think overall it's one of those courses where you -- I don't know, there is a score out there, but it's like you hit it a little bit off target or the rough is quite thick, so I think you just have to stay patient and take what it gives you.
Q. And didn't play last week, right? So what kind of, if anything, did you work on between the Europe Swing and coming into this week?
MINJEE LEE: I don't know why, but I was super jet lagged for the first week, so I felt like usually I do like two weeks in Europe, but I stayed over for a whole month. I felt like I took the first week to get in the hang of things and then be back on the right time schedule.
Last week I did a little bit of practice but it was so hot that I felt like I was dying every day out in the heat. So, yeah, it's really lovely to be in Canada. This weather is pretty perfect.
Q. You are going to be a couple shots of the lead looking like heading into the weekend. Does your mindset change when you're in chase mode versus when you have the lead?
MINJEE LEE: I do think internally it's a little bit different. You know, when you are -- when you have the lead, I'm sure you'll be in like a really good condition and you'll be hitting it well. But I do think you feel like you need to keep the lead more than when you're chasing. You can kind of be a little more aggressive and you're trying to obviously chase and make as many birdies as possible.
So I do think there is a little bit after different mindset there.
Q. Along the same lines when you see other big names like Jeeno and Brooke, does it change your mindset versus some unproven players at the top of the leaderboard you're trying to chase down?
MINJEE LEE: Not really. I don't really pay too much attention to like who is up on the leaderboard. Obviously everybody is a great player and everybody has great skill and talent to be on the LPGA Tour.
I think it's more a fight against myself and the golf course, so I just try to do my very best every day and try and get -- you know, get that 2% better on the course.
