Quick Quotes
Q. Matt, thanks so much for joining us. A lovely way to finish your round with a beautiful long birdie putt there at the 18th. Give us your assessment of your play overall today.
MATT FITZPATRICK: Yeah, felt like I played really solid. Ten 4s in a row to start the day is always nice and steady, I guess. Wish there were a few more par-5s there, but it was a good day all around. I felt like I never really put myself out of position and drove the ball really well off the tee. And I think if you can do that, you give yourself a chance.
Q. You played 20 tournaments this year. In the first ten, your best finish was 22nd; in the last ten, five top 10s. Clearly you've turned things around. What's the biggest difference in your play?
MATT FITZPATRICK: I feel like my irons have been better. I think there's a few things -- I didn't chip and putt very well at the start of the year either. And when you hit your irons better and you start putting well, that's a nice recipe for success.
So I feel like I've done that better over the last, I would say, ten tournaments, and hopefully continue.
Q. Thoughts going into the weekend with an opportunity to win on home soil, which you've done before, but it's always special, isn't it?
MATT FITZPATRICK: Always is. Yeah, always is. The crowd was fantastic. We had a lot out there today following, and it's amazing. It's really nice to have that support.
Just looking forward to the weekend, like I said earlier in the week, just trying to manage my energy levels and take it easy.
