Quick Quotes
Q. Bogey-free 68 for you yesterday, you told us you were most pleased with your ball-striking. What was the story with the 69 today?
MATT WALLACE: Yeah, pretty much more of the same. Just a couple loose swings in there which I can kind of eek out hopefully. Misjudged one out of the rough and didn't get it up-and-down on 16, but the rest of it was pretty tidy and a really nice stretch between 18 and 7, yeah. Bad tee shot on 8 but a great bogey. Good one down 9. Very happy day.
Q. Trying to win the Betfred British Masters but also convince Luke Donald that you're worthy of one of his picks. Is it different emotionally on the golf course?
MATT WALLACE: No. No. I try and play my best golf every single week, every single day. Who knows, that might change on Sunday if I'm in contention again, but this is like our home tournament.
So for me to try and deliver for the crowd here, the support has been amazing this week. If I can carry on doing what I'm doing and hopefully give them a ride for the week, and try and win a tournament and then give Luke a headache, yeah.
Q. Having said that, players have told me in the past having such an agenda, "Go Big Or Go Home," is quite helpful to them. Are you feeling that way?
MATT WALLACE: Yeah, the team is going to be strong would you tell me there, anyway. So if I can force my way in, I'll be playing great golf.
So I'm there just to try and play the best golf I can this week, try and win a tournament, and like I say, I can't get into the team automatically, so it would have to be a pick. I have to play some great golf. So let's go and do that this weekend.
