BETFRED BRITISH MASTERS HOSTED BY SIR NICK FALDO

August 22, 2025

Alex Fitzpatrick

Sutton, Coldfield, England

The Belfry Hotel & Resort

Quick Quotes

Q. Second consecutive rounds of 69 today. What's pleased you most about your play over the first two rounds?

ALEX FITZPATRICK: I would have to say like my mental game more than anything. It's been a pretty rough start to the year. So kind of battling a lot of things and feel like I did a really good job past couple days of kind of staying patient and keeping myself present in the shots that I'm hitting.

So I would have to put it down to that.

Q. You mentioned that poor start to the year. 111th in The Race to Dubai; we expect you to be a lot higher and a lot better player than that. How big a sense of opportunity now is there going into the weekend with a chance to put all that to bed and climb the Order of Merit and start looking ahead?

ALEX FITZPATRICK: Yeah, a hundred per cent. You get off to a poor start, and you always feel like you're behind the 8-ball, especially when you have got active mind like mine, you're always trying to think ahead and that's the worst thing I can do, really. That's why I praise my mental game the past couple days. Even in Scotland, I actually played pretty good, and I slipped up on Saturday a little bit and that cost me.

But yeah, just happy being out there and grinding and just trying to post scores.
