Q. Any round without a bogey is satisfying. How about a 67 on this daunting course?
ELVIS SMYLIE: Yeah, yeah, really plays with today's round. Comparing it to the first round, I really struggled off the tee. So to be able to piece everything together and make some nice putts out there was very rewarding.
Q. We spoke about your 6th place finish in Denmark last week, and you said something had clicked in your game. What is it you're doing particularly well now that perhaps you haven't done in the last few weeks?
ELVIS SMYLIE: I think off the tee I was really good today. You have to do a really good job of hitting the fairways around here because the rough can be quite penalising.
I feel like off the tee I was really good today. And then I've been putting really well. That was an opportunity for me to put in a new putter this week, but I was stuck to the old trusty. So I'm really happy with that.
And I got on FaceTime with my coach back in Australia yesterday afternoon, Ritchie Smith, and we worked on some stuff. And, yeah, really happy with today, and looking forward to the weekend.
Q. 22nd in the Race to Dubai at the moment. What's the goals that you set for yourself for the remainder of the season, because you've already got the win and the exempt?
ELVIS SMYLIE: Yeah, I think the important thing is not getting too complacent with having a winner's category. I still want to achieve more out here, and my goal is to finish within the top 10 in the Race to Dubai and ultimately keep progressing and playing around the world. Because I love the DP World Tour. You feel like you adjust so much on a week-to-week basis, different courses, different climates, conditions, and just furthering my progress, and good golf will take care of itself. I'm loving my first year so far.
