Chula Vista, California, USA

San Diego Country Club

Quick Quotes

THE MODERATOR: We are joined by Corey Weworski. When you saw that tee times came out, how did it feel to have that opening tee shot?

COREY WEWORSKI: I will have to admit, I started to cry. I don't know why. It was just emotional. I don't know if I was ready for that.

Q. How did it feel today on the first tee?

COREY WEWORSKI: I actually felt fine. I missed the fairway, but it was okay.

Q. You're from Carlsbad, not too far from here. Had you had an experience with San Diego Country Club before?

COREY WEWORSKI: Yes, we played team against them.

Q. Did you play it pre-tree removal?

COREY WEWORSKI: Yes, both times. When trees were here, they didn't have any rough, so now they have rough and no trees. So it's a give and take.

Q. For someone who's never seen this golf course, describe it.

COREY WEWORSKI: Oh, my gosh, I think it's wonderful. You know, it's a links style now, and I'm sorry that they're going to be ripping it up. But it needs some work. It needs a little love because it's been here for a long time, and I think they're going to do a wonderful job with the remodel.

Q. How do you feel you played today?

COREY WEWORSKI: I thought overall I played good. For me, it's mainly controlling my nerves, and I managed them okay.
