Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: Hello everyone, welcome to the media center at the 2025 CPKC Women's Open. I'm pleased to be joined today by rookie and LPGA Tour winner Lottie Woad.

This is your first start in North America after turning professional and your win in Scotland. Have you taken the time to reflect on everything that has happened over the last few months?

LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, I think a little bit. Had the last couple weeks off after the Open at home, so got to catch up with everyone. It was just nice to kind of rest a little bit and, yeah, reflect over the crazy last few weeks.

Q. Talk just a little bit about how your life has chain and how you're adjusting to your new life on Tour?

LOTTIE WOAD: I think I'm adjusting. I think this is my third event as a pro, but almost feels like the first one I properly traveled for. The other two were in the UK and the kind of the first one I'm not with my family and stuff like that, so kind of feels like the first one.

Q. Kind of like you mentioned, this is the first one you're traveling for and this is your first start at this event in your first professional event in Canada. Do you have experience with these type of golf courses? How are you feeling heading into this event specifically?

LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, it's my first time in Canada. I think I've played golf courses similar to this. Yeah, great course. Quite thick rough around the greens, which I've played a fair few college events like that. Know how to play that. Yeah, definitely be a challenge if you miss the greens.

Q. Winning in your debut and going on to finish top 10 in a major, how has that fostered your confidence or prepared you for the rest of your season?

LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, I think a lot. Obviously getting my card was huge. You can never really expect to go out and win your first few events. To be able to win the first one and continue the good form was a real nice confidence boost for me, and just looking to continue that into the next few events.

Q. I'm curious had you ever -- given how crazy all the results were last month, have you allowed yourself to zoom out and realize like that was really good? Are you proud of yourself for what happened?

LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, definitely. Yeah, it was probably my best month of golf ever, so yeah, definitely happy with that. Yeah, just that month went by really fast to be honest kind of just going from event to event. It was nice after the Open to look back on it and kind of reflect.

Q. You mentioned a few minutes ago this was your first event as an LPGA Tour pro. With respect to the robust traveling coming into a new country, et cetera, was that kind of a welcome-to-the-show moment where you realize you got to do paper work and find a hotel, this, that, and the next thing? How has that been to this point?

LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, I mean, it's been fine. Feel like I'm still pretty used to traveling. I mean, playing golf in college we travel a lot. Playing back in Europe I'm traveling lots. Kind of used to that side of things. Yeah, it's a bit different not being with your team, college team per se or with your family every time, so it was a little different but it's been fun so far.

Q. In the last interview Brooke Henderson was saying that she was looking at her videos at 14. You just coming front and center on the beginning of your career, what would you say to your 14 year old self after all this excitement this last month?

LOTTIE WOAD: (Smiling.) I don't think I was very good at 14. Yeah, just I was trying to enjoy it when I was younger and I still try and do that now and just I love playing golf so it's really fun.

Just try and keep the same mentality really.

Q. You've already checked a lot of goals that you had for the year already, already winning a tournament. What are the goals] as you look toward the end of the season? What would you like to do?

LOTTIE WOAD: I think I'm just approaching each event the same, just trying to contend. I would definitely love to win again. It was a great feeling in Scott lands. Just trying to play well and see if that happens really.

Q. What is your schedule coming up?

LOTTIE WOAD: Playing most of the next events in the U.S. and then playing some of them in Asia and coming back for the ones in Florida.

Q. Was it kind of hard to figure out time off and what you were going to do or did that flow easily when you sat down with your team?

LOTTIE WOAD: I think it was easier once I kind of won and I knew what events I would be in. Before I didn't really know if I would be in the Asian events and the later events.

I think it just kind of wrote itself after that.
