Q. How would you characterize the day today?

TAYLOR PENDRITH: Got off to a horrific start and then really hung in there and played pretty nice golf. Hit a nice shot on 17 just a couple yards too far right, which is unfortunate, but I'm still kind of right there. I hung around, felt like I battled really nicely today, and made some nice birdies, a couple nice up-and-downs and some nice lag putts.

Two bad holes really. One bad swing on 1, and hit a really nice shot on 17, just was two yards too far right.

Q. Do you have a sense of what you need to do tomorrow to get inside the top 30?

TAYLOR PENDRITH: Kind of but not really at the same time. I figured coming into the week before we started a top 10 would have a shot, and that's probably going to be the case. Kind of right there, just need a nice one tomorrow, obviously, and that's the goal of the week is to advance and continue the season. Hopefully have a good one tomorrow.

Q. Will you keep your eye on all those big boards out there or do you play your game and let the chips fall where they may?

TAYLOR PENDRITH: I think situationally, yes. I'm just going to go out there and do my normal routine in the morning and try and play golf and try and play well. If I'm in the position where coming down the last three or four I'm going to probably want to know, so I will have my eyes on the leaderboard.

I mean, it's just golf. Obviously it's one big important round and can do a lot for me for next year. Obviously that's a goal, but we'll see what happens.

Q. First shot goes awry like that, what do you do to reset?

TAYLOR PENDRITH: Yeah, honestly, just a little bit of a shock to the system. I have been driving it really nicely all week, and yeah, I don't really know where that came from. Just a bad swing. I've been driving it really nicely the last three days and today, too. Drove it really good except for that one swing.

After that, just try and get one in play and give yourself a look at 5. I hit it in the bunker and had to get up-and-down for double and hit a really nice bunker shot to make double. I thought we regrouped pretty nicely after that and made the turn at 1-under, and that's probably all I could do.
