PORTLAND CLASSIC

August 16, 2025

Lauren Coughlin

Portland, Oregon, USA

Columbia Edgewater Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Okay, here with Lauren Coughlin after the third round of The Standard Portland Classic. 6-under bogey-free today. Just describe how it felt out there.

LAUREN COUGHLIN: Yeah, I feel like I kind of found something on the range with my swing a little bit this morning, and then I felt like I've been putting really well all week. Just been really dialed and finally got some so kind of go in consistently throughout the round.

Q. What was it with the putting? Seeing a lot of one putts on the scorecard. Was that something going into this week you were focused a lot on?

LAUREN COUGHLIN: Yeah, definitely. It's been kind of like when I went through that stretch where I wasn't playing all that well, it was kind of a lot of -- it was putting based. I feel like I kind of found something early in this week.

The greens are just so pure and they're rolling so good. I kind of felt like even practice days felt like I was seeing them pretty well.

Yeah, I mean, just when they're rolling this good you just got to get it going online with good pace.

Q. And can you describe a little bit about what you found on the range this morning.

LAUREN COUGHLIN: Yeah, I think I wasn't really quite compressing the golf ball kind of early in the week, and just like, I don't know, just kind of started doing something and then just (Plane interference) and I was like, oh, that's the feel that I've been trying to find all week.

Yeah, just kind of found it and was able to translate out there.

Q. (Plane - indiscernible.)

LAUREN COUGHLIN: Yeah, yeah.

Q. I wanted to ask you a little bit about your trip to Chamber's Bay and all the fun stuff you did. I think one of your captions was like you don't get to do a ton of fun golf too much anymore. Talk about that.

LAUREN COUGHLIN: Yeah, so the No Laying Up crew, you know, they have a bunch of meetups throughout the year. Kind of when John had played -- my husband played Chamber's Bay four, five years ago when they had done one back there and it was his favorite course he ever played and really wanted me to get out and play it.

So when they announced that they're playing it again and realized it was the week before this, it just logistically worked out really, really well.

So, yeah, flew up to -- flew into Portland really late Thursday night and drove up to Seattle Friday morning and went and did a tour of Pearl Jam's headquarters, thanks it Tim Bierman, one of their managers with Casey and Jon Landman who are really, really good friends of ours.

Then went to a Mariners game and played Chamber's golf Saturday and Sunday. Went to Rainier's game.

My husband loves baseball. Yeah, just had a lot of super fun -- got to play golf with like some friends that I don't get to do very often.

My caption on my Instagram that I don't get to play quote-unquote golf with no other purpose than hanging out with people I enjoy being around and playing a cool golf course, so it was a lot of fun.

Q. And just can you speak to how refreshing that is to be able to do that, especially before a couple weeks in a row?

LAUREN COUGHLIN: Yeah. I think it's just like golf is our job and it can beat you down and beat you down and beat you down. Getting to go do it in a way where the only goal or outcome is like just to have fun playing golf, it definitely recharges the batteries.
