Q. Mason Howell, that approach on 18 to seal the deal. Talk me through it.

MASON HOWELL: We knew John was going to make birdie. He's such a good player. Total respect to his game. I knew I needed a good one. He was coming off momentum on 17. We got pretty aggressive, and it paid off.

Q. That crowd was pro Daly pretty much the entire day. How do you deal with it?

MASON HOWELL: His family has so much legacy, I understand it. I'm just a boy from south Georgia. No, but I hope a lot of people got their eyes opened to my golf game today.

Q. Obviously tomorrow, you want to win it all, but if you win the semifinal match tomorrow, it's into the Masters, U.S. Open, The Open. You've been in the U.S. Open before, maybe not your best showing. Are you nervous about tomorrow?

MASON HOWELL: It's just another match. Obviously there's a little more pressure. But if I go play my game, I know it's good enough. So just looking forward to it.

Q. Did you learn anything from the U.S. Open last year that kind of makes you confident for this week?

MASON HOWELL: Absolutely. Don't short-side yourself in thick rough.
