Quick Quotes
Q. Okay, here with Aline Krauter after the second round of The Standard Portland Classic. 5-under 66. Kind of just talk about your day today. How were things going out there?
ALINE KRAUTER: Yeah, I was pretty steady my first couple holes and then I holed out from under a tree, which was kind of nice, very surprising, and landed just short of the green and trickled in.
That kind of got me going on my front nine, and then was super steady on the back nine. I was able to get two birdies on the back. Just very solid.
My swing doesn't feel like it is where it needs to be, but I'm just making it work, which is really nice to see.
Definitely seeing some improvement in short game and putting so that's always nice, yeah.
Q. Looking at your card here, six fairways, which out here usually doesn't lead to a 66. How do you manage to get around that way still put up a really good score?
ALINE KRAUTER: Yeah, I think that's what I was alluding to. I wasn't hitting many fairways, swing didn't feel great, especially off the tee, and I just managed to -- always put myself back into position either by chipping out and taking my medicine or just -- I mean, I got it on the green a good amount of times after I hit it off -- or missed the fairway.
So, yeah, I've just, I don't know, tried to scramble. Like I said, short game has been pretty good. Even if I did miss a green after that, it was still fine.
Q. Obviously two pretty good rounds back to back here. You said swing is not all there. How nice is it to put together two really good rounds when you feel like you don't have your best game?
ALINE KRAUTER: Yeah, it's really nice to see that I can still put together a good round. I talked to a friend earlier this week and I was kind of talking exactly about that. It's not always about feeling your best. I've had weeks I've been mediocre with a great swing.
So, yeah, just tried to figure it out. Go hit a couple balls now and see if I can get a feel and figure it out.
Q. You spent time on the Epson Tour this year and back on the LPGA. How nice is it to get good starts and finishes out here once you game back and took that opportunity?
ALINE KRAUTER: Yeah, it's been amazing. My first opportunity was Mexico and I definitely took advantage of that. And then U.S. Open was great. Then just I kind of got the ball rolling which was really nice to see. I struggled a little bit earlier in the season on the Epson and it's just nice to see the game coming together just on the big stage.
It's so nice to be back on the LPGA.
