Q. There's a lot of pressure on you this week, but you came out hot, 28 on the front side. A couple poor swings on the back nine, but overall how would you assess your round?
JOAQUÍN NIEMANN: Yeah, like you said, it was a good start. I felt like it's obviously a lot of pressure on the line. But it's always fun playing with Bryson and Jon. I've been playing probably 80 percent of my pairings. It was a fun day. Crowds were unbelievable today. Yeah, Indianapolis was fun today.
Q. Your teammate Sebastian Muñoz just shot 59 with a double bogey. When you made the turn in 28, were you thinking the same thing?
JOAQUÍN NIEMANN: It's pretty impressive. After my front nine I thought there may be a chance and then I started swinging it very bad. But Sebastian has been playing amazing golf lately.
I feel like it's one of those courses that really fits his game, and he can get hot, so he definitely got hot today, and hopefully he keeps getting that way for the weekend.
Q. You and Jon are the only two who can win the individual standings. You've got a head start on him right now, but this is the sort of golf course -- what's your strategy because he can go low over the next two days?
JOAQUÍN NIEMANN: Yeah, obviously the same thing. Keep being aggressive. I feel like there's a lot of opportunities out there, and definitely Jon can have a really good weekend.
It's part of the game. I feel like I'm in a good spot. I just want to keep playing good golf and enjoying being here in Indianapolis and have fun.
