PORTLAND CLASSIC

August 15, 2025

Jeongeun Lee5

Portland, Oregon, USA

Columbia Edgewater Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Okay, here with Lee5 after her second round at The Standard Portland Classic. Just talk about today's round. 67; holding the clubhouse lead right now.

JEONGEUN LEE5: While warming up today, it was quite chilly so I thought to myself that I shouldn't overplay it today. In the beginning, I tried to safely make pars and that worked out well. If there were opportunities to make birdies, I wanted to make sure I did. With the start of my birdie, I had five straight birdies so I was able to finish my round enjoyably and comfortably.

Q. I think we just talked about it briefly, but I believe six birdies in eight holes in the middle of your round. What was going through your head then?

JEONGEUN LEE5: I wanted to make as many chances to birdie. Starting on hole 5, it was a par 5, so it seemed there was more of an opportunity to birdie, so I tried to focus on that. With the start of that birdie, I think I was able to have that momentum and great energy to continue making birdies until hole 9. In the second half, I had a mistake on my tee shot at hole 10, but I was able to save par and I think I was able to end my round well overall.

Q. You only had 25 putts out there. A lot of one putts.

JEONGEUN LEE5: I didn't count.

Q. Front nine you had about two two-putts and the rest were one-putts. What can you say about your putting and maybe the greens out here?

JEONGEUN LEE5: The greens are so good here so when I go on the green, I tried to focus on what I need to do and the lines I wanted to follow. Honestly, all my birdie chances were a short putt so I think that was the reason I was able to make those birdies and have a low putting stroke today.

Q. After the past two rounds what are you looking forward to most about the weekend after seeing how the course is playing?

JEONGEUN LEE5: I'm sure all of the players have the same or similar thoughts, but when we are playing well, we expect it to continue. So, I want to really concentrate and focus going into the weekend. The past two rounds I had great energy, good shots, and good putts, so I want to continue this throughout the weekend and hopefully have a great tournament.
