Quick Quotes
Q. All right, here with judge Juli Inkster after the second round at The Standard Portland Classic. Talk about today's round for you.
JULI INKSTER: Yeah, wasn't very inspiring. I didn't drive the ball as well as I did yesterday. Kind of a grind out there today. I hung in there and grinded and shot a couple over.
Q. Talk a little bit about what was going through your head, especially going to the back nine.
JULI INKSTER: You know, I was just trying to find some type of swing. Holes three, four are some pretty tough holes out there. Bogeyed both of those and I had a couple par-5s coming up and played them kind of sloppy. So, yeah, wasn't really one of my best days.
Q. And we don't know for sure yet, but if you make the cut -- we're going to keep an eye on the cut line -- but you would be the oldest player to make the cut, surpassing JoAnne Carner. What would that mean?
JULI INKSTER: I frigging love JoAnne Carner. Yeah, just kind of means that I have a passion for the game. I love the game. You know, I'm really happy I played this week. Kind of when I signed up was kind of like, what are you going? I was free, I was out there with Hannah Green and Stacy and had a great time.
Just love watching the young kids swing. I mean, it's so impressive. I think the game is in a really good shape and happy to be here.
Q. What's it been like to see players on the fairways and greens and if they recognize you what kind of memories...
JULI INKSTER: Most of them think I am JoAnne Carner, so...
You know, I know a lot more caddies than I do players, but I still -- I have a lot of respect for them. It's really a hard game and you have a lot of ups and downs, so how you manage that -- for these I don't think kids to do that is pretty impressive.
Q. What have you seen in your game that you can carry over? You said you're using this week as prep as well.
JULI INKSTER: I feel like I'm putting pretty good. My irons are pretty good. Got to shore up my rescues and fairway woods a little bit.
Yeah, I think it was really good for me to play, whether I win or lose next week, whatever. I'm glad I put myself out there.
Q. Were you aware at all of the cut line while you were playing and where you were at?
JULI INKSTER: Yeah, a little bit. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I knew if I could get to 1- or 2-under I would make it; 1 might be a little iffy.
I did the best I could out there. Yeah, wasn't really pleased with the way I drove the ball on the back side or my front side. Hopefully there is tomorrow and I can improve.
