PORTLAND CLASSIC

August 15, 2025

Grace Kim

Portland, Oregon, USA

Columbia Edgewater Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. All right, here with Grace Kim after the second round of The Standard Portland Classic. 7-under 65. Talk about your day a little bit today.

GRACE KIM: Yeah, I think I probably missed the most fairways in that group. My shots into the greens and my putts really backed up my game. Had a lot of good range, mid-range to long putts today, so that was nice.

Yeah, I guess yeah, just rolled it well.

Q. Seems like you found your groove on the front nine, which looks like your back nine today. Eagle and only missed one green. Anything change in the game or something click towards the back nine?

GRACE KIM: Yeah, not much has really changed mentally. Knowing there were gettable par-5s, especially that seventh hole which I even par'd it, so that to me felt like I bogeyed it, but again, I know there are gettable holes as well, so definitely made the most out of it.

I was actually -- I had a bet with my physio this morning. To shoot 7-under he had to wear a yellow tutu for the International Crown. So I did that and made a long putt on the last hole to make that 7-under, so he's wearing a tutu.

Q. Does he know you shot 7-under?

GRACE KIM: I think he would know. He's hiding because he doesn't want to be seen for sure.

Q. Obviously a great round and then heading into tomorrow, 11-under total; looks like you're going to be in contention tomorrow. Talk about the mindset heading into the weekend knowing you're in contention.

GRACE KIM: Yeah, I mean, obviously this week is always a bit of a birdiefest. Everyone tends to go low and it's pretty stacked.

So knowing that, you know, I'm going to try not to get too ahead of myself and be greedy. Yeah, just try and stay patient and let the birdies come to me rather than trying to force them.

Q. How much are you going to draw on the Evian Championship and the emotions there and bring that into the weekend?

GRACE KIM: Yeah, I think, winning the Evian is obviously huge. Yeah, just having that peace of mind to have a job for the next five years at least.

Yeah, just to be able to kind of (indiscernible), but at the same time, I haven't really changed much, but my schedule also stayed the same, game plan just stayed the same. Just keep doing what I was planning to do at the start of the season. Yeah, kind of keep digging at it, yeah.
