San Francisco, California, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. It took you 18 holes, but you got it done. Talk me through the round today.

JACKSON HERRINGTON: I started off pretty good, 1-up through 1. Kind of a steady start, couple up-and-downs the first few holes. Then kind of settled in there through the first early part of the round. Then through the middle of the round, I think I was 3-up through 9. Made a birdie putt on 9 to halve the hole. Tried to stay steady from there.

I wasn't hitting my driver too good today. I felt like I left three, four shots out there. I feel like I should have finished it off sooner, but I still got it done.

Q. Honestly, beating Chase Nevins, he was a really good test, kind of a rivalry. I wanted to ask you like, did you know him before? Did you know his game before, playing at during SEC play at all?

JACKSON HERRINGTON: I never played with him, but I knew who he was. I've seen him hit a bunch, and I tried to pay attention this morning.

Q. Does that help you today if you know a little bit about him before?

JACKSON HERRINGTON: I think so, but it's golf and anything can happen. I just stuck to my game plan. You never know what somebody is going to do, like 17 he holed out for eagle. I thought I was going to make something up there, but yeah, finally got it done on 18.

Q. I guess this isn't your first time going into a USGA event. You went to the finals of the Four-Ball. Does that experience help you through this week? Can you take what you learned from the Four-Ball and bring it to like this?

JACKSON HERRINGTON: I think so. There's a lot of pressure around that too. If you both don't play well, you're not going to do too well. Lucky for us, we got pretty deep there and got to learn all the pressure that comes with it.

Last year here, got to the round of 32. Felt like I should have gotten further, but just kind of take all that I learned from those and use it this week, see if I can get to the Masters.

Q. What are your plans for tonight? Do you have any adjustments for tomorrow?

JACKSON HERRINGTON: Yeah, I'm going to go work on my driver. It wasn't great today, but I hit it solid. Yeah, I think I'm just going to go work on my driver a little bit and then go chill and not change the game plan at all for tomorrow.
