OMNIUM BANQUE NATIONALE

August 7, 2025

Naomi Osaka

Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Mixed Zone

V. MBOKO/N. Osaka

2-6, 6-4, 6-1

Q. Obviously it's not the result you would have wanted today, but it's been such an incredible week. You know, back in a 1000 final, and like you were celebrating earlier in the week, that you boosted your ranking and were able to make US Open seedings once again. I know it's tough at times like this, but there must be lots of positives you can take from this week.

NAOMI OSAKA: Yeah, I mean, definitely. I think it's kind of funny. This morning I was very grateful. I don't know why my emotions flipped so quickly, but I'm really happy to have played the final.

I think Victoria played really well. I completely forgot to congratulate her on the court. Yeah, I mean, she did really amazing, so...

Q. Obviously it's been the first week you've had with Tomasz as well, and it's been a great week that you got to a final. How are you finding that partnership so far, with the tournament under your belt?

NAOMI OSAKA: Yeah, obviously this tournament went really well. It could have went better, but that's just me being picky. I think it was a really good first tournament, and I hope that we can continue.

Q. Looking ahead, you've said about how great this part of the season is for you, the part of the season that you really enjoy, especially the couple of tournaments that are coming up. With the tennis that you have been able to produce this week, it's felt like you've been getting better and better and progressing more and more in how you play tennis on the court. Are you excited to kind of get going in the next couple of tournaments coming up?

NAOMI OSAKA: Yeah, I mean, it's definitely going to be really interesting to go to Cincinnati. I don't know. I feel like I'm a little teeter-tottering today. I felt like I could have played better, but I'm not really sure which aspect.

I think definitely my serve, but it's going to be interesting to see, yeah, what my next match is and how I'm going to play.
