Quick Quotes
Q. Nice playing today.
ELLA SCAYSBROOK: Thank you.
Q. So first U.S. Amateur. Walk us through now you're going to the quarterfinals. What does that feel like?
ELLA SCAYSBROOK: Very exciting because it's my first one obviously. Had a few events before this and I'm excited, yeah.
Q. What were your expectations coming into this week? Here you are, last eight.
ELLA SCAYSBROOK: I definitely knew I could do it. I don't know, nice to be in that position.
Q. You got to see Bandon Dunes the way most people see it.
ELLA SCAYSBROOK: Yeah.
Q. First three days you guys got a little break. Today it was blowing. I don't know if you played in conditions like this before, but how do you deal with that? How do you stay patient? How much of an adjustment do you make with your game?
ELLA SCAYSBROOK: Definitely stay patient. I've had a little bit of experience this wind down in Melbourne is where most of our events are at home. It's pretty similar to this. Similar course, similar everything.
Yeah, just stayed patient and confident pretty much.
Q. Did you adjust anything in your game in terms of your ball flights or...
ELLA SCAYSBROOK: (Indiscernible.)
Q. I know you said you spent some time in Florida and the States the last couple months playing golf. What did you do to specifically prepare for Bandon? Some players said they pulled up YouTube or other stuff to get familiar with the course.
ELLA SCAYSBROOK: We use Upgame at home. So just pull up the Upgame, shows you a bit of the course. But, we did have two practice rounds, so, yeah.
Q. Do you feel like conditions like this, like you said, you're used to down in the Melbourne area, and I know you said you played a lot of Sand Belt golf, which is similar to this. Do you feel like you have an advantage that some of these girls don't out here?
ELLA SCAYSBROOK: Yeah, definitely a little bit because I do have that experience on courses like Melbourne and they're very similar. So, yeah, a little bit.
Q. 64, 63 seed in the last eight.
ELLA SCAYSBROOK: Yeah.
Q. How crazy is that? Do you look at that at all and say, oh, my Gosh or...
ELLA SCAYSBROOK: Yeah, it's kind of crazy to think about. It's good.
Q. Especially because you woke up yesterday and didn't even have a spot.
ELLA SCAYSBROOK: Yeah, pretty much. It's crazy to think about now, yeah.
Q. You're part of a high performance team in Australia, right?
ELLA SCAYSBROOK: Yeah.
Q. Can you just talk us through a little bit more about how that experience prepares you for events like this?
ELLA SCAYSBROOK: The high performance, so Golf Australia and Golf New South Wales, I'm from New South Wales, so they're kind of different, like we're a bit separate, but we fall under Golf Australia when you're away.
We train Mondays, Fridays with everyone, so that's really competitive, which I guess those really help when you're out there, yeah. It's good.
Q. What would you say is your biggest win of your career?
ELLA SCAYSBROOK: I have won a professional one back at home. It was just a two-day qualifier. Let me think.
Q. (No microphone.)
ELLA SCAYSBROOK: Yeah, I came second there.
Q. Who won that?
ELLA SCAYSBROOK: That was a girl from Korea, Hyojin. Yeah, I think she just turned pro.
