Quick Quotes
Q. What a shot on to 18 today. What did you you have in?
ARIANNA LAU: I had around 230 something yards. I hit 3-wood.
Q. Is that as good a 3-wood as you can hit?
ARIANNA LAU: It was pretty good.
Q. You were second. You're following and saw what Rianne did. She knocked it pretty close. Did you know how close she was?
ARIANNA LAU: Not really. She hit a really good shot, so I just tried to match it, yeah.
Q. You seemed to walk after it. Did you believe you hit a good shot?
ARIANNA LAU: I did. It was a bit downwind so I thought maybe I could reach the green.
Q. 18 has been pretty good to you today. This morning in the playoff, three hours of golf and you made a birdie there to get the last spot. Few hours later you're standing there again and you beat the medalist and the defending champion. Describe that.
ARIANNA LAU: Yeah, I'm just really grateful, especially today. Like it taught me how to handle pressure, especially in match play.
Yeah, I just like really happy to like even make it to round of 64, and to play pretty good golf today, yeah, it was a very -- that's very good.
Q. You were 3-up early and she came back on you. Obviously I know you're playing a girl who has been there, done that. What do you say to yourself to get yourself regenerated and get the momentum back on your side?
ARIANNA LAU: Yes, Rianne is a very good player. I admire her a lot. So like to be able to play with her today was like such an honor. I just tried to stick to my own game, just play my best and just shoot the best score I can.
So, yeah.
Q. On the previous hole you missed a three- or four-footer to tie the hole.
ARIANNA LAU: Yeah.
Q. Ended up losing it. Momentum was in her favor; you took it back. Explain the emotions of those two holes.
ARIANNA LAU: Yeah, I was a bit frustrated with the short putt. Yeah, was just a bit nervous.
I'm glad to like bounce back on No. 18 with eagle.
Q. Were you nervous at all having to kind of sleep overnight knowing you had to wake up and have the playoff this morning?
ARIANNA LAU: Yeah. Honestly, yeah. But, yeah, I just tried to like enjoy this -- like the playoff was actually very special format, so, yeah, I just really enjoyed playing the golf these few days.
Q. You were in a different situation two weeks ago at the Girls' Junior. 3 seed and the hunted; today you were the hunter. Which do you prefer? What spot do you prefer to be in, girl that's the 3 seed or 64 seed with less pressure on you than the medalist?
ARIANNA LAU: I think maybe 3 seed because it shows that I'm playing well and, yeah.
Q. Did you feel like you were playing well coming into this morning?
ARIANNA LAU: Yes, I did. Today my ball striking was pretty accurate. I knew I could make some putts. I made some like pressure putts in playoff, so that gave me a bit of confidence.
