Quick Quotes
A. POPYRIN/H. Rune
4-6, 6-2, 6-3
Q. How did you see that one play out?
HOLGER RUNE: Yeah, disappointing match. Not much more to say. I never found my level. I was struggling a lot on my serves, so that made it much more difficult.
Q. What was the difference after the first set?
HOLGER RUNE: I mean, not much different. I was trying to hold on everything, and you cannot play a full match like that, you're eventually going to be broken. Yeah, just very disappointed.
Q. You played him before, what are the challenges of playing a player like that with a big serve?
HOLGER RUNE: It's the same, you know. It's a good serve, he pressures really well. He was going for it and I wasn't, so you just have to.
Q. Just in terms of your level, looking ahead to Cincinnati, what are you hoping or focusing on sort of improving ahead of the US Open?
HOLGER RUNE: Yeah, I didn't think much after the match. I mean, I definitely have to play a lot better, I think. So, there's some decisions I need to be, you know, better decision making in my game. Once I can do that better I can get better results.
Q. Are you planning to head straight there or do you imagine you'll practice a bit more here in Toronto?
HOLGER RUNE: No, the hotel is so far, so it's like it's really tough conditions in that way. I don't know, we didn't check flights. It's been very nice being here in Canada, but I think we will leave either tomorrow or the day after.
