AIG WOMEN'S OPEN

August 2, 2025

Megan Khang

Rest Bay, Porthcawl, Wales, UK

Mixed Zone

Q. Lots of birdies out there today.

MEGAN KHANG: Lots if birdies out there. Nice to see some putts drop. Definitely tough conditions. Really happy with the game play so far.

Q. Plus you made a move up on moving day. That's a good thing. Brought things within reach I'm sure.

MEGAN KHANG: Yeah, it's always a good feeling to get a good round in. A little unfortunate first hole for me on the putting green. Stuff happens out there. Definitely woke me up. It's hard not to watch the leaderboard out there and see the amazing scores that some of the girls posted already.

I knew seeing those scores birdies were out there, but just had to stay patient and do my own thing.

Q. You got a tough stretch of the first five holes and then the last five holes are as difficult as well. Do you have to kind of just block it out or how do you handle those stretches of holes?

MEGAN KHANG: You know, I will say like the first and last five are definitely a little more demanding than the rest of the course, but you can't let any hole slip through your fingertips. It's all pretty demanding out there with the weather conditions and the wind.

I am not taking anything for granted. Trying to be a little more aggressive when I can, but for the most part just playing patient golf and really trying to reiterate to myself that pars never hurt.

Q. When the conditions are going to be what they're expected to be tomorrow, do you think it's better to be a chaser than someone who has the lead and is trying to hold it?

MEGAN KHANG: Honestly I haven't looked that far ahead. I've just been focusing on the now. I've heard talked of 11 not being so favorable. Again, try to stay with the game plan and take it shot by shot and not try to get too ahead of myself.
