Press Conference
ERRANI-PAOLINI/Fernandez-Fernandez
6-4, 6-2
THE MODERATOR: Hard luck today, but it must be quite special to play with each other as sisters. Just talk about what that's like to be on the court together.
LEYLAH FERNANDEZ: Go ahead, Bianca. That's on you.
BIANCA FERNANDEZ: You start (smiling).
LEYLAH FERNANDEZ: It feels amazing to be able to share the court with Bianca. We were talking about it I think after the match that we haven't seen each other since November, so it's pretty cool that we got to play together in front of a home crowd.
A little rusty, but I feel like the connection is still strong. It was funny, a couple of points where we were able to play without even communicating. Yet, I knew exactly what she was thinking. It was pretty cool to experience that.
BIANCA FERNANDEZ: Yeah, like she said, I haven't seen her since November, and I was injured at the time, so it's not as if we practiced or anything.
Then playing our last match was last year in this tournament in Toronto, so definitely shaking off some rust. I believe we didn't do that bad considering we played one of the top doubles teams in the world.
So it was pretty fun. We kept it light-hearted and just played to have some fun and do good in front of our home crowd.
