AIG WOMEN'S OPEN

July 31, 2025

Ingrid Lindblad

Rest Bay, Porthcawl, Wales, UK

Mixed Zone

Q. Tell me about the round today.

INGRID LINDBLAD: It actually kind of felt like a boring round. It's blowing. You don't want to miss in certain spots. It was a lot of made a couple of up-and-downs, and when I hit the green, I had a lot of good two-putts. It sounds easy, but it kind of felt pretty boring. I made all pars on the back nine until 18, when I birdied.

Q. What about that birdie? Can you tell me about it?

INGRID LINDBLAD: I had hit it in the left rough, and I was out. I know how much the ball runs from the rough when it's downwind, so I was like, oh, we're just going to layup with a pitching wedge, but it turned out I hit that pitching wedge about 170 metres. It was almost like I could have gotten a 9-iron on the green from 210 metres.

Hit a good chip too from about six feet and made the putt.

Q. Did your plan, your strategy for today work?

INGRID LINDBLAD: Yeah, they changed up the course setup a little bit. A lot of the par-4s, they made them shorter, which was very nice of them because I think some of the girls may not have reached them in two. That's how long they're playing.

So it was just a couple of different lines on a couple holes, but otherwise I feel like we had a pretty good strategy. It worked out pretty good.
