Q. Felt like a grinding round out there. Was that sort of what it felt like to you as well?

GRACE KIM: Yeah, that's kind of what you're going to get throughout these weeks, this week anyway with the conditions. The wind did pick up certain holes, the sun came out, and then it disappeared. Yeah, I think the wind was quite -- I'd say it was the same direction, which was nice, but just the amount of wind was up-and-down throughout the day. Knowing that, really just trying to hit fairways and greens and just make a lot of pars.

Q. Exactly. Trying to get even-par or 1- or 2-under and don't put yourself out of the running?

GRACE KIM: Yeah, exactly. It's only round 1 as well, so just try to keep grinding it out the next three days as well hopefully. This whole week, literally I think the best word to describe it is a grind.

Q. And it takes a while out there on a day like today. 18 you had to wait to hit your balls. How do you break it up? Do you just chat to the others? Do you try to think about other things or look at things in the crowd so you don't get too wound up?

GRACE KIM: Yeah, I just talked to my playing partners and my caddie. We kind of just talk rubbish really, just trying to kill some time. You kind of go up with the fairies a little bit, but I just make sure I come back to switch on and play my shot properly.

Q. What about being in the marquee group in a major championship, Brooke and Ronnie? That's pretty cool, isn't it?

GRACE KIM: Yeah, really cool. Obviously they're good players, and they're very nice people as well. Just to play in that group and have a bit of a crowd was nice. This is definitely where you want to be.

Q. How many times did you take on and off your waterproofs out there today?

GRACE KIM: It was actually not on at all, which was nice today, but the vest kind of came back on at the end. Yeah, it did get a bit chilly.

Q. I notice your water bottle. You haven't gotten a knew one for this week, still have the Evian water bottle. Or is it just a better bottle, or is it a little bit of a memento?

GRACE KIM: Probably you could say that, yeah, I just haven't switched it out. The Evian bottle works just fine.
