Quick Quotes
Q. How did you do?
LYDIA HALL: It was a reasonably solid performance. It was great welcome this morning on the 1st tee, so that was enjoyable. I played reasonably solid. Couple of bogeys to start with, settled the nerves, and managed to squeeze a couple birdies in towards the end.
Q. I just watched you on the 18th there. How close was that?
LYDIA HALL: We were kind of -- obviously we just had a little downpour, so we were between right half and right edge. I was right and went with the inside right. I mean, it's a solid performance.
Q. Surely doing that stretch without a bogey just to kind of shore up the rest of the round, you must be pleased with that.
LYDIA HALL: Definitely. It's not easy out there. You've got to miss it in the right spots. That's the key to this golf course. I feel like I know where is a good miss around here.
So you can kind of keep -- you know, we all need to keep your doubles, your extra -- triples, et cetera, off the card. I feel like I know the best spots to be to get up and down from, and I managed to do that early on.
Q. That local knowledge come in handy?
LYDIA HALL: Yes, absolutely. It's like a subconscious. I know where I need to be, so I don't have to look at the book as much as the other girls maybe and some of the numbers. I know where to be. So, yeah, it's obviously a help.
Q. How do you find the conditions with the wind coming in off the sea?
LYDIA HALL: Yeah, it's really good. That's the prevailing wind. I'm used to normally the first. Obviously the tournament is -- the 2nd hole out of the left is such a tough tee shot coming off the ocean.
Yeah, it's what you should expect at a British Open, and that's what we had. I'm really happy we've got this weather.
Q. What's the rest of the day look like for you tomorrow?
LYDIA HALL: Go and see family, have some lunch, have a massage, and head back home. See the dog and chill out for this afternoon.
Q. Excited for tomorrow?
LYDIA HALL: Yeah, can't wait. Got a couple more friends come in. Get some rest this afternoon and head out at 2:00 tomorrow.
