Quick Quotes
Q. Three birdies against two bogeys today on a golf course that you would qualify as really hard?
BROOKE HENDERSON: Very challenging, yes. I'm happy to make three birdies and to limit the bogeys. Unfortunately, both bogeys, I believe, were three-putts. No, I three-putted the last for par.
Just get rid of a couple of those, and I feel like it could have been a really solid day and near the top of the leaderboard, which is a good feeling going into tomorrow.
Q. The ball striking is to your liking?
BROOKE HENDERSON: It's been the best it's been in a while. So that's really exciting for me. Usually it's a strength of mine. It hasn't been for the last couple years. To see it kind of come back into form feels good, and hopefully just keep it going.
Q. Does that come from the preparation you maybe had for the stretch of run in the UK?
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, you know, I've been working really hard with my sister and my dad trying to hit it better, trying to give myself more opportunities for birdies and try to be in contention come the weekend. These weeks I played Evian, then went home for a little bit and came back for this.
A lot of majors in a row for me, so hopefully I find something in my game and have a good finish.
Q. (Indiscernible.)
BROOKE HENDERSON: Hitting a lot of greens. I hit a lot of greens today. Any time you can do that, especially on a links course, I feel like you're gaining on the field, which is a good feeling. Yeah, hopefully hit a lot of greens and have a lot of birdie looks.
Q. How critical is you off the tee game here?
BROOKE HENDERSON: For sure, you definitely need to hit a lot of fairways here. It was nice to have a couple tees moved up today. I feel like that was really helpful, especially with how strong the wind was. I feel like that was nice. For the most part, I hit a lot of fairways too. So that felt good.
Q. How many drivers did you hit today?
BROOKE HENDERSON: I hit driver a lot, maybe four or five times I didn't, but the rest I was hitting driver.
Q. How do you take a deep breath and go, okay, I got the first one done, and get ready for an early start tomorrow?
BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, any time you finish under par at a major, any time you're under par at the British or the AIG Women's Open, you're smiling.
It was a good day. Unfortunately, I missed that short birdie putt on the last. I'd like to have been 2-under going into tomorrow, but lots of golf left, and just go make some birdies.
Q. How are you adjusting your putting overnight?
BROOKE HENDERSON: Just got to do a little bit of pace. I feel like it's difficult to judge even with the wind, some pace. Try to do the long ones. Get a little more confident with the shorter ones.
It's always a work in progress.
Q. How well do you know, if at all, Anna White, who came through the qualifying as a 16-year-old?
BROOKE HENDERSON: I don't know at all, I don't think.
Q. She's on the Canadian Next Gen team. 16 years old, youngest in the LET.
BROOKE HENDERSON: That's amazing. That's really awesome. I heard there was another Canadian in the field, so that's really cool.
