AIG WOMEN'S OPEN

July 31, 2025

Maja Stark

Rest Bay, Porthcawl, Wales, UK

Mixed Zone

Q. Just summarize your opening round today.

MAJA STARK: Felt good in the beginning. It felt like I dared to hit the shots that I needed to hit. It was super windy today. Then just annoying at the end there, made two kind of unnecessary bogeys there at the end. Then on the 18th I had -- I was in an old divot in a bunker. You can't really get a ruling for that, just tell the people to rake their bunkers properly. So that's really an annoying finish.

Q. Any thoughts about going into tomorrow and just the course in general?

MAJA STARK: I think I just need to dare to hit the shots I need to hit really. I think there's no really bail-outs here from the tees. So you've just got to pick a line and go for it. That's what I struggled with on the back nine really because I was getting more tired and the wind kind of was different.
