Q. Please talk about your round today. How do you feel it went there?
MANON DE ROEY: Yeah, I'm very happy with my round today. I just knew from the beginning when I got here that you have to just be very patient. Pars are good scores, and if you get a chance, you have to take advantage. I plotted my way around the golf course pretty good today, so I'm happy.
Q. What are your thoughts on the course? How is it playing for you?
MANON DE ROEY: It's great. I love this course. It's in really good shape as well. You have to hit really good shots, good ball striking. Yeah, I'm excited for the rest of the week. They moved some tee boxes up today, so we have to calculate a little bit more. Still pretty good.
Q. Incredible. Have you played here before?
MANON DE ROEY: At first I thought I played here before, but I didn't. I played somewhere else. It's super nice. I saw Trish earlier this week, and it's her home course. She played here. She's like, it's a very good course. You're going to like it. So I'm very excited.
Q. Did you get any tips or tricks?
MANON DE ROEY: No.
Q. You didn't need it today, I guess?
MANON DE ROEY: No. I feel like this course you can see a lot from the tee, so you can make a good game plan. We really stick to the game plan today.
Q. Amazing stuff. How much were you taking on and off the waterproof jacket?
MANON DE ROEY: I only took it off twice. It's still considered really good weather here. Normally when we play a British Open, it's always like blowing really hard or a loot of rain. I'll take this every day.
Q. Do you prefer kind of playing these conditions?
MANON DE ROEY: I do like the wind. In the past it helped me as well because you can start a bit more like you don't always have to hit the perfect shot, which is also nice sometimes. You can use the wind really in your advantage, so yeah.
Q. What's your preparation been going looking into this week?
MANON DE ROEY: I played the course quite a lot. I played it on Sunday because I missed the cut in the Scottish. So I came earlier. I played it on Sunday, Monday, 18 holes, and then 9, 9.
I just wanted to do my work on the course, not really on the range, because the range is just a one wind. On the course you can have multiple winds. So I rather do my work on the course.
