Rest Bay, Porthcawl, Wales, UK
Quick Quotes
Q. Yeah, you must be annoyed at that back nine.
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah.
Q. Just kind of what went wrong there?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Missed a couple course management decisions I think we got wrong. A bit disappointed about that.
Q. Coming here starting the round, UK links golf, did you feel you could put a score together today?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Definitely. I thought I played well to be honest; just didn't put a score together on the back nine. Just a bit disappointed.
Q. Back nine is harder, isn't it, than the front?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: I would say so. Probably yeah, you have a lot more looking at those longer -- they did move the tees up today, so that was helpful. 14 and 16 are really long holes. So long even though they moved them up.
It was helpful they did that, but still probably a tougher nine.
Q. Major week. Must be please again, teeing up in one of the biggest events in golf.
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, I love this event. Obviously it's a kind of highlight of the year. Obviously got family and friends watching and beautiful weather today, so yeah, nice to be out there.
Q. Have you felt a kind of buzz, first time in Wales, championship continues to evolve?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, definitely. I think this is one of our best tournaments of the year. I don't think I'm biased. Well, I am a bit biased, but I think the rest of the girls think the same. They just treat us so well and obviously better and better venues every year. Pretty good crowd as well.
Hopefully can improve over the week.
Q. Tomorrow, score in mind?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: No idea. Yeah, no idea. We'll see.
