THE MODERATOR: Jasmine, welcome back to Montreal. Talk us through how you're feeling, how your practices have been, and how you're enjoying Montreal so far.

JASMINE PAOLINI: Yeah, I came here two days ago, and trying to adapt as good as possible to the courts. Yeah, the condition are pretty fast.

The city, it's nice, so it's great to be here. The weather, it's good. It was so humid, but it's good.

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. This is your second time here I think, so it's not a tournament I guess that you've been around that often here. What are your kind of impressions? What have you kind of liked so far about being here, and besides maybe also you mentioned the conditions?

JASMINE PAOLINI: Just the second time I'm playing here, but it's the first time actually that the tournament is that big.

I like this place. It's a really nice city. I don't know what to expect, but I'm trying to do my best. The courts, as I said, are really fast, and the balls as well. So trying to adapt as better as possible those days.

I don't know. Hopefully I'm going to play a good first round.

Q. Your opponent I think just won earlier as a qualifier. What are your kind of impressions just about how maybe playing someone who came out of qualifying, who already will have played two matches I guess before you step on the court here, is that something that is a challenge, someone who maybe is used to the conditions here?

JASMINE PAOLINI: Yeah, it's never easy to play a qualifier. They have already played one or two matches, and maybe three sometimes. They're used to the court, but you know, I have to try to focus on myself to do well what I think it's important to do well.

For sure, it's going to be a tough match. I think she's a young player and playing good and on those kind of courts, so it's going to be a challenge match. Hopefully I'm going to play a great first round.
