Pit Lane Interview
Q. For the second year in a row, Kyle Larson was the chaser, came up just short. You had two restarts to do it. What was that like on those restarts? Did you have any shot?
KYLE LARSON: The first one played out a little bit better. Kind of the same thing with me last year. Leaders got the inside. It's really hard for me to beat that. Kind of just hoping for good fortune again with fuel and whatnot.
Regardless, proud of my team today. We just executed. I don't think we passed many cars on track, but our picker did a good job and our team did a good job with strategy. Happy to get a good result like that.
Wish it could have been one spot better, but congrats to Bubba. That's so cool. This is a big race, and he's a good dude.
Q. It's fun to win. You do it a lot. Do the close ones ever get to you, the second place finishes?
KYLE LARSON: Not really. Obviously I'd love to be one spot better. I would love to be kissing the bricks for a second year in a row. It's been a rough stretch for us here lately. To get two top fives in a row is something I'm proud about.
Thanks to Hendrick, cars.com, Valvoline, Prime, everybody there at the engine shop, Hendrick Automotive Group. It was good to get another solid day and get some good points.
Q. Second place for Kyle Larson.
