Quick Quotes
Q. A round of 67 which include six birdies and three bogeys, how does that one leave you feeling?
THOMAS BJØRN: A couple too many bogeys, really, I guess. Six birdies is good enough. Today we played the golf course, at some stage tomorrow, we might have to play the man. That's the way it's got to be.
I'm pretty happy. 67 around here is always a decent score, and you know, leaves me in with a chance tomorrow. But got to have a low one tomorrow.
Q. Two proven frontrunners in front of you, major champions. So you know you're going to have to go low. But you shot 63 yesterday so you know it's in there. How much belief does that give you that it's possible?
THOMAS BJØRN: That's the problem with Champions Tour golf. It's not that difficult to get in the top 20. But these guys, you know, they have won 30, 40 golf tournaments worldwide. So they don't go away on Sundays. They are going to keep going. So you just got to put your foot down and try and get there.
As I said, that's where you start playing the man instead of the golf course, and on this golf course, that can be dangerous, but if you want to golf tournaments, that's what you've got to do.
Q. What would it mean to you to win your first senior major, particularly the Senior Open here at this iconic course?
THOMAS BJØRN: You play golf tournaments to win them, and when you're in any tournament in the world, you want to win those. Obviously majors are great. You're playing against the guys that you've played all your golfing life with.
So in those moments where you have a chance to go up against them and try and beat them, that's the greatest feeling in the world, and as I said to you on the golf course, I'm 54 years old and I'm still living this dream, and that's the great thing about golf. I get to do that tomorrow. So might as well go out and enjoy it.
