Q. On a day when you needed a really low round to give yourself a chance of winning tomorrow, how good does that 66 feel?

KEVIN SUTHERLAND: Feels good. I played well today. I was getting the ball in the fairway for the most part. I hit a lot of greens, and a lot of times I was a long ways from the hole, but my lag putting was pretty good. And when I had birdie opportunities, I made my share, but I just played a solid round of golf today.

Q. You have not played this championship for seven years. What was your thinking coming back this time?

KEVIN SUTHERLAND: I was just really looking forward to it. I played here in '15. I love this course. It's one of my favourites. It's my top 10 course I've ever played. I always enjoyed playing over here. I love Carnoustie, St Andrews, the whole lot. I haven't come over for various reasons. Some of it has been injury-related, but I just love being here.

Q. How do you feel about your position in the championship now?

KEVIN SUTHERLAND: I feel good. I drove it today a lot better than I did the first two days, and I'm hoping that's something to build on. Because I felt like the first couple days, I got a lot out of it to be where I was at, but today, I drove it fine. I gave myself a lot of chances.
