Quick Quotes
Q. What are your thoughts on your round?
MINJEE LEE: I felt like I hit my irons solid. I made two mistakes on two par 5s that I'm a little disappointed in. But just didn't hit my driver the way I wanted to or a little bit better than I wanted to.
So yeah, I just want to clean that up a little bit for the rest of the tournament.
Q. I saw you on the fifth but straightaway you had back-to-back birdies soon after. How did you sort of pick yourself up?
MINJEE LEE: I don't know if I was really thinking about -- I was a little annoyed that I made double on the par 5, so I was like, I really want to be under par today. So especially with the conditions being so good the first six holes, and I felt like I didn't really, you know, take the opportunities that I gave myself.
So I was a little bit -- I felt like it was a little bit of a slower start and just tried to, you know, ramp it up a little bit. 7 and 8 were solid birdies. They were good. And I also birdied the par 3 that's really hard. So I hit such a good 4-iron, and it was like five feet. So I was happy with that.
Q. You've had some really good finishes here. Is this tournament something that you feel like is a good preparation for next week and one you enjoy playing?
MINJEE LEE: I think in terms of getting kind of used to the links surfaces and getting ready with the wind because it's a little bit different when you're playing in America and you can't really like replicate what it's like to play on the links surfaces. So in terms of that, yes, but I don't really take it as, oh, I'm using this event to get ready. I want to do well and do well in this event, and I want to do well in every event. That's what makes us competitors.
I don't really think about it as I'm getting a warm-up event or anything like that.
Q. Your fourth time coming back to Dundonald, anything specifically you like about the course or anything?
MINJEE LEE: I think the last few holes are good finishing holes. Like 18, I think it's a good green, like kind of risk and reward a little bit. So that's kind of fun. I think just the flow of the holes is quite nice. You have a lot of opportunities for birdies a little bit early and then in the middle it's a little bit tough and then there's a few more opportunities on the back. So I just think the flow of the course is nice, and now I've been here a few times. I kind of know where to hit it and just like the nuances of the course.
So I think that's kind of nice, as well to, know where you're going around a golf course.
