Q. Not easy, but you made it. Given your recent play, been playing so well, did you see this win coming?

RYAN GERARD: I want to say yes, but you never really know in this game. Been playing a lot of really good golf. Felt like I haven't been quite getting the scores out of the shots that I've hit.

It's been a long time being a long grind, and, yeah, it's pretty cool to end up on top.

Q. You did some quality work there on the back nine. When you have someone like Steve Hill, Pepsi caddie on your bag, how much does that help you coming down the stretch to try to slow down a bit?

RYAN GERARD: Yeah, I mean, he's truly like the pro's pro. He's one of the best to ever do it. He's really, really calm. Keeps me in a good spot. Knows what to say at the right moments, and got a lot of experience in big time situations.

So, yeah, it's fantastic and I'm so happy he's on my team.

Q. When you have time to reflect on this victory, what does this do?

RYAN GERARD: It's just like a culmination of like a lifetime of work. I can't tell you like how many hours I've spent hitting golf balls dreaming of winning on the PGA TOUR. Yeah, it's really special.

Q. It's interesting, your good buddy Ben Griffin, you got to be thinking, he has two victories, Ben, you can't be the only you one from North Carolina to win. Now you can tell Ben, I got my first victory.
