Q. Tommy, good round today. How pleased are you?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, it was a nice finish. I played very, very good today. I actually felt like I putted well on the back nine as well, and some scared at the edge.
Again, it feels like -- aside from the first day where I felt like I had to really scrap, I didn't play well at all. The rest of the week I felt like I played much better than I scored and just couldn't -- some good starts, which I think it's the golf course as well. Par-5 on 2, short par-4 on 5, got 7 as well, so that's the course. You have to get off to good starts.
I just was always a fraction away from being satisfied, if you like, every day. Still it's been a pretty good week.
Q. How would you reflect on the whole experience? Not just the golf, but being here in Northern Ireland.
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: I've played two Opens here now, and they've been great. The atmospheres have been great. 2019, I played with Shane in the final round, and this week I had Rory for the first two days as well. Being part of the atmosphere, I think, is great. I think personally the golf course, how it plays is great.
I've enjoyed it again. Like I say, aside from my own sort of feeling of I wish I could have done just a bit more, I don't think I'd have been catching Scottie anyway by the looks of it. But you're looking for your own personal satisfaction. But it's been a very, very good week and a great venue.
Q. You mentioned that Scottie Scheffler is not finished yet, but how impressive is what he's been doing here?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: It's amazing. I suppose he's earned the right to be spoke about how people speak about him.
Just looking at what he's doing on the par-5. He's looks like he's actually not making birdie on the hole.
Yeah, phenomenal player. I think having someone like that to keep us looking up to and keep us all chasing, it's great. I think, obviously if he keeps going the way he is, we're all going to look back and talk about him in the same breath as some of the all-time greats, and he's played in our generation.
We'll see. You don't want to obviously just predict what's going to happen today. I don't want to jinx him or anything like that, but it does look like everybody's saying it's going to be a procession, but golf is a funny game. We'll see. It looks like he's going to be four majors in, three down against a career grand slam, so very impressive.
Q. Would you indulge me with an answer about the Ryder Cup. How much are you looking forward to that?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: I'll wait until I've either qualified for the team when that comes, or if I need a pick, I would love to have a pick and hopefully be there in September with the team again. I think it's a very exciting prospect to go. I think we're all very much looking forward to the challenge it will be.
Yeah, I really hope I'm there, and I hope I can be playing well and contributing when I am there. Yeah, very excited for what that will be. I'm sure it will be an amazing experience for us all.
Q. Bryson DeChambeau has just been here saying they're looking to crank up the noise. I suppose you wouldn't be expecting anything less than that?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, that's what you would expect. I think they should absolutely -- I'm sure they'll be looking to draw on the home fans, home support. I think it's such a -- it's a great privilege to play a home Ryder Cup and have the support and have the crowds behind you.
For us, we'll go in there as a team, and we'll just look forward to whatever atmosphere everybody brings and hopefully look forward to putting on a great show and playing well together. Yeah, obviously we're looking to hold that trophy at the end, so we'll see.
