Q. First experience at The Open; take us through what you enjoyed the most.

J.J. SPAUN: Yeah, I think I got a taste of it all, the venue, the crowds, the culture, the weather, playing with Xander and Jon the first couple days, feeling that atmosphere was really fun.

I grade it an A+ for my first Open.

Q. Special moments on the course and outside of the course?

J.J. SPAUN: Special moments on the course, I think it was nice walking up 18 there today, hitting it to like four inches and just kind of embracing the crowd and hearing all the cheers. That was really cool. But all week long I was getting lots of cheering and words of encouragement from everyone.

It felt like I was a local being out here, so I felt really comfortable and felt like I belonged.

Off the course, it's just been fun, having some great Guinness and enjoying the people of Portrush. Also having my family here, it was a great treat. It's been a great week.

Q. What comes next for you, Playoffs? Your outlook on what's coming?

J.J. SPAUN: Yeah, the Playoffs are next, so I am going to take a couple weeks off. We're going to go vacation in southern England next week for about five days and then go home and kind of rest and recharge for another week and then go to Memphis to start the Playoffs.

Q. We talked a lit at the beginning of the week, Ryder Cup and expectations and some people are excited to talk about J.J. and Xander together at the Ryder Cup. What do you think about that?

J.J. SPAUN: I would love that. Me and Xander go back a long way. He's an extremely great player, and it would be awesome to have him as my partner. I think we have a connection other than just golf-related terms. We went to the same school. We played a lot of golf growing up. We get along well off the course as well. I think it would be a good match if we get paired together.
