COREY CONNERS: You can use the wind to work it toward the holes. The conditions were a little friendlier. I would say the wind wasn't up too, too much this morning. Yeah, had a good day.
Q. In terms of the previous two days, is that how you distinguish today in terms of the winds?
COREY CONNERS: I think so. I think I had a few opportunities where I felt like I could get the ball closer to the hole and give myself better birdie looks. I was able to do that.
Another distinguisher, just was able to roll in a few putts. It was a little tidier of a round.
Q. Statistically your game is per your rounds very good. How do you think this golf course speaks to your game?
COREY CONNERS: Yeah, it's good. I think it's important to strike the ball well off the tee into the greens here. It can get pretty tricky if you're missing fairways and missing greens. I think the ball striking is really important. The first few days, didn't really have the putter working that well and kind of held me back a little bit there, I think.
Kind of had it all together a little nicer today.
Q. You're building up quite a major record. You've played quite consistently in the top events. Do you think you're on the verge of doing something special at a major quite soon?
COREY CONNERS: Yeah, I think so. That's what we're all working for. It takes some special golf. Didn't quite have it the first couple days here. We'll see how far back I end up at the end of the day.
Yeah, I feel like I've got a lot of confidence in my game and feel like I belong in contention.
Q. I think the Masters in Augusta is where you've really excelled in the past. If I could ask about Augusta, why do you think that is?
COREY CONNERS: I think it sets up really well to my eye, the ball striking is a strength of mine. I seem to hit the ball quite well around there and make it as simple as possible. I like the greens there as well. There's quite a bit of slope but really fast. I seem to putt my best when the greens have quite a bit of speed.
Q. Do you ever take inspiration from past champions? I suppose Mike Weir comes to mind obviously as a Canadian ambassador for golf and major champion?
COREY CONNERS: Yes, I've leaned on Mike a lot to try to learn my way around Augusta in practice rounds with him every year. He's open to helping and offering advice. He's a big supporter of all of us Canadians out here now. He's definitely a big inspiration.
Q. How much would -- when's the Presidents Cup come into your thinking?
COREY CONNERS: Probably next season. It's still over a year away. Yeah, keep working hard. Each week we play is a big event. So just try to take it one week at a time and see where we get.
Q. Anything in particular that Mike said to you before that you've taken into each round maybe?
COREY CONNERS: Yeah, I think he's just instilled confidence in me. He believes in my ability, so it makes it easier for me to believe in myself. Hearing that from someone I looked up to is special and very meaningful.
