U.S. GIRLS' JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

July 18, 2025

Grace Carter

Johns Creek, Georgia, USA

Atlanta Athletic Club (Riverside Course)

Quick Quotes

Q. Grace, a ton of great golf this week. You were the stroke play medalist. You've dominated all your matches. What was your mindset going into this afternoon's match?

GRACE CARTER: Just the same game plan I've had all week. Like I've said, fairways and greens. I keep saying that. Yeah, it just wasn't meant to be.

Q. You still had a lot of really great shots out there this afternoon. That chip on No. 16, how did that feel?

GRACE CARTER: It was probably one of the best shots of the day I'd say. Yeah, just kind of a hard shot and I managed to pull it off.

Q. I know it was your uncle on the bag with you this week. What was your relationship like with him? You obviously had a lot of success. What conversations did you have throughout the week?

GRACE CARTER: Just a bunch of stuff. We're pretty close. He lives like five minutes away from me, so it was just a lot of fun to have him on the bag.

Q. You came into this event with two really dominant wins on the AJGA. How else did you prepare for this event?

GRACE CARTER: Just a lot of practice, a lot of putting. Definitely a lot of putting because I knew the greens were going to be hard no matter where I played.

Q. What were some of your emotions throughout the week? You had a lot of great matches. How did you keep yourself calm?

GRACE CARTER: I'd probably say I'm never calm. I might appear like that sometimes, but I'm never really too calm. Yeah, just telling myself to be patient and just -- yeah, being patient.

Q. What were some of your highlights? It could be the golf, like maybe a certain golf shot, or if you had fun with people?

GRACE CARTER: Well, yesterday I had two hole-outs with my 9-iron. I'm liking my 9-iron right now, so that's probably my favorite thing of the week.

Q. What was your overall thought of the championship this week, playing in U.S. Girls', that's such a big honor. Did you have a lot of fun? What was that like?

GRACE CARTER: Yeah. I had a lot of fun. It's a great experience to be here and to play with all these great players. It's just such a great honor. Yeah, just happy to be here, and maybe next year it'll happen.

Q. You're so young, and you still have a lot to learn. What were some of your takeaways from this week that you're going to bring into your next events and your future golf?

GRACE CARTER: That I can compete with the best players probably. I can compete with the best players.

Q. What's next for you on your golf schedule? What big events do you have coming up?

GRACE CARTER: Well, I have an AJGA in Ohio next week, so I go there next. Then the PGA Junior in Indiana. Then I've got just a bunch of AJGAs after that.
