THE 153RD OPEN

July 18, 2025

Matthew Jordan

County Antrim, Northern Ireland, UK

Mixed Zone

Q. How do you reflect on the round? Obviously a few dropped shots at the end probably left a bit of a sour taste?

MATTHEW JORDAN: Yeah, it was. Certainly after 17, I had a bit of lack of concentration. It had just started to pour again and I just huddled under the umbrella and I didn't probably really concentrate, so that was certainly sour.

But yeah, just too many mistakes. I guess the annoying thing was I made the mistakes, stayed patient, kind of got them back, started to get some momentum, and as soon as I did I hit a good drive that somehow ended up in the bunker on 14 kind of thing, and it felt a bit like that really. It was just one of those days.

Q. Was 14 one of the tougher holes today?

MATTHEW JORDAN: Yeah, it was. When we played it, it was into the wind. You've got to try and -- we felt like we had to hit driver, so it means you take on the one on the right and that pin as well is really tough.

Yeah, it's certainly one of the harder holes out there.

Q. You're not out of it in terms of where you are on the leaderboard with a good score tomorrow.

MATTHEW JORDAN: Yeah, I'll just decompress, reflect a bit, try and get dry kind of thing, and then once a couple of hours has passed, we'll start looking forward to tomorrow.
