Quick Quotes
Q. I'm here with Shyla. This is your first U.S. Girls', correct?
SHYLA SINGH: No, I played it two years ago at Eisenhower Golf Club.
Q. What's been your impression of just the event overall here?
SHYLA SINGH: I really like it. Like playing a USGA event is very different. You get treated like a professional. So it's really cool being here.
Q. Talk me through both your matches today, kind of what was working well for you. Just the whole day in general.
SHYLA SINGH: I think I hit the ball quite well today. In the morning match -- like they're quite opposite rounds. In the morning match, I was 4-down through 7. I had to keep trying to fight it through, which I did.
Then in the afternoon I started pretty well, like I got 3-up through maybe 6. So that was good. I think I just like continued that momentum for the rest of the round. Yeah, I would say my ball striking really worked well for me today. Hopefully it keeps up for tomorrow.
Q. What's kind of your thoughts on what the heat's been like the last couple days? You've been playing some marathon days right now with 36 holes. How's the heat impacted you, anything like that?
SHYLA SINGH: It is definitely very hot out here, but playing in Australia, like this is what it is like in the summer. I guess I'm used to it a little bit. It's not really that different. Definitely like in the afternoon today you could definitely feel like, after already playing a match and it getting even hotter in the afternoon. Just trying to stay hydrated.
Q. You are the last Australian left. I know you played an Australian this afternoon. What does it mean for you to just be the last one left representing your country?
SHYLA SINGH: It's like very bittersweet. I obviously really wanted to win this afternoon to make it through, but it was sad to beat Rachel. Like she's my friend, we're staying together. I just had to like block that out that she's my friend and try to play my best golf.
I think it will be really cool to have the rest of the Aussies supporting me on tomorrow.
Q. Last question, what's your week been like in America? Have you gotten to do anything cool outside the ropes?
SHYLA SINGH: Not here. I've been in the states, this may be my third or fourth week just playing other events and stuff. This week has been pretty busy. We already had like the events.
My friends and I have just been spending like hours in the clubhouse, like there's numerous things to do. We've just been enjoying the hospitality of Atlanta.
